Says Tom Syson: The production is 'Tha little sweep', by Benjamin Britten, in 1950 or 1951. The girl on the right, (in both photos ) I cannot remember, but Gerald Smith is the eponymous little sweep in the hip-bath, and Lorna Newton (playing Rowan, the childrens nurse) is the girl with the big towel facing the camera on the left. Others I cannot identify. The show was produced by Harold Alton (music) and Mr Saville (English) and starred Felix Calton (maths) as Black Bob, the sweep.
