Long Eaton Swimming Pools
These photos show the un-heated Lido at and the swimming bath at Derby Road School. Both were where used by Long Eaton schools to teach children to swim.

Says Keith Reedman:
The Lido in Station Road where we were taken when I was at school and where all the other swimming pictures were taken, was in the Copsey Croft vicinity. The pool itself was constructed on the site of the former sewage works and the original settling tank was perhaps utilised. By the time of its construction during the 1930s, the Council had built a new sewage treatment works at Toton which is still in use, though much enlarged.

The Derby Road school baths building is being given (year 2013) a large grant for external renovation from the Townscape heritage initiative programme, largely funded by the lottery and English heritage.
