I have recently found the attached, which might be the oldest item so far submitted. It is the Report for Christmas 1919 for my aunt, Lily Negus. As you will see it is for Form 2b at a time when the first form must have been admitted at 12 rather than 11. The School is still 'County Secondary'. In those days there was no other secondary education in Long Eaton and most children would have left school at 14. This would have been the year my father (later a LEGS pupil) was born in the November. Lily was his elder sister, so her marks clearly survived the arrival of a baby brother during the term. I'm not sure any other Negus was ever top of a class at LEGS. The report is signed by the redoubtable Samuel Clegg. Scan and caption from David Negus.
