Says Deirdre Gordon: The outward bound was the only thing I did away from home with LEGS. The book is my diary. Just a few pupils took the opportunity to go on the first Outward Bound Course for the school , for free. It involved rock climbing and talks about rock formation, abseiling, canoeing and construction, hill walking over Pennant and Cader Idris, (it snowed up there!), map reading, orienteering and camping out on a 3 day trek. There was an assault course in the grounds with rope ladders, called the Burma bridge, and wood planks up two trees you had to step across - The Death slide. We sayed near Towyn, Merionethshire (West Wales)
