Zigger Zagger School Play April 1971
LONG EATON Grammar School Drama Club chose for their first major production the National Youth Theatre play Zigger Zagger by Peter Terson. The choice was a good one.
Previously the club. which has been in existence for just over one year, has done two reviews using a small team of actors. However, producer Mr. Roger Clipsham decided that on this occasion a play involving a larger number of people would be desirable. ......
... The production itself showed great promise, and obviously we are to have some interesting work coming from the club in the future. Gary Walker, who plays Harry, was excellent and his performance presented us with a good picture of the boy's dilemma.

It was at times amusing and forceful, at other times the true nature of the problems facing Harry were presented.

Pete Ellis, playing Zigger Zagger. was also good. although it was felt that he was not sufficiently forceful at times to justify his bottle throwing activities. Les, Harry’s brother-in-law. was equally well done by Michael Heginbotham and the scenes involving these three characters went well.

There was also good supporting work by Joan Hazzledine and Rachel Carpenter as Harry's mother and sister.
