This edition of Gossamer is very late in publication, but it does at least look very different from preceding copies. Several members
of the Committee felt that a change in cover design would be a good thing, for the present design has been current for a number of years.
However, the expense of such a change was one deterrent, and another was difficulty in finding an alternative design; so we compromised
by changing our colours.
As far as we are concerned we hardly know whether to welcome or deplore the sustained examination successes of the school. As
every schoolboy knows, examination successes are great glories, but as every schoolboy also knows, they make very dull reading when they
are not his own. Some pages of this magazine are beginning to look more like pages in a directory than a magazine. Candidates do like to see
their successes enrolled, but when these tend to make up the greater part of the magazine any committee must wonder whether the policy
of publication in full should not be abandoned. We made our decision and have pleasure in handing the problem over to the next committee.

Finally, we thank all those who have sent in contributions for this edition and the members of staff, particularly Mr. Driver for his help with the photographs, who have assisted us.
