Headteacher Neil Calvert receives the trophy from John Simpson, with David Negus, left, and Kevin Palmer, right, representing the Centenary Reunion committee.
The trophy was purchased from money left over from Centenary Reunions held last October at the former school building on Tamworth Road dating back to 1910 and known to many as Long Eaton Grammar School. It is now a centre for small businesses.
The glass trophy will be awarded to a pupil or group of pupils from the school for voluntary service in the school or the wider community. Entrants will be expected to have done something extra to make a difference to other peoples’ lives.
