Eric Marshall and Richard Guise
Eric Marshall and Richard Guise (The famous Author - in Long Eaton anyway!).

Eric was over from USA and met up for a drink at the Tiger Inn on 29th September 2005. He also managed to get a look around the School. This is what he said: 'Perhaps the biggest shock is the old hall. It is VERY small, and sadly has fallen into disrepair - some of the coving has fallen down and it is too costly to repair at this point so the hall is not used. There is no sign of the 'river' on the floor that Richard Guise remembers so vividly! Despite that, the old parquet floors are all intact, as is most of the oak paneling, although it is still painted over. The two rooms (as I remember) upstairs that had 'lecture theatre' type seating (raised towards the rear) have had the raised sections removed - which was a little disappointing. I think one of those rooms was our form room in the L6. The balcony that was converted to the 6th form common room (after you left) is still in that configuration, but is now used as a teaching space. There is a complete 6th form college built at the back of the 'new' gym.'
